The following provides step-by-step instructions for how Health Advocate can help you save money by negotiating lower prices for your bills. 

Step 1. 

Email your medical or dental bill to Health Advocate, or use our mobile app (on iPhone and Android) to snap a picture that is sent directly to Health Advocate. 

Step 2. 

You'll get a notification saying that you have a form ready for you to sign. This is a HIPAA authorization form (click here for an example) to allow them to communicate with the provider on your behalf.

Step 3.

Once you've signed your form, Health Advocate will reach out to the provider's office in order to negotiate a price reduction. This negotiation can lead to a reduction in your out-of-pocket costs, since your Advocate has intricate knowledge of the healthcare system. A few common issues that cause higher-than-normal bills are:

  • Visiting an out-of-network provider

Step 4.
